Value: N$ 6 000.00
Project Date: 19 January 2016

On 16 December 2015, the Ohorongo Otavi Community Trust, in partnership with Cymot, donated 6 bicycles to the Tsumeb Police.

This donation forms part of a bigger roll-out donation of bicycles that will also benefit the towns of Otavi and Otjiwarongo.

During the hand-over ceremony of the bicycles to Tsumeb Police, Chief Inspector Nguulivali commended OOCT and Cymot for their involvement in the fight against crime, and he expressed greatest gratitude from the side of the Namibian Police.

“The safety of communities remains an important factor, hence the commitment to join hands with the communities in the fight against crime. Ohorongo Cement will always be a partner in initiatives such as this through its Trust,” said Mr Rudolf Coetzee, General Administration Manager at Ohorongo Cement.

The focus areas of OOC is based on 3 pillars: Education, Healthcare and Infrastructure.

Through our OOCT Trust, Ohorongo Cement shows that we take our Corporate Social Investment seriously.

“We are a responsible corporate citizen and try to give back to the community where we can. Obviously one cannot help everybody, however, by setting an example, we are hoping to also inspire other companies to follow suit,” said Mr Hans-Wilhelm Schütte, Managing Director of Ohorongo Cement.

“Together we can make a difference,” he concluded.
