“Study very hard, because nothing comes to an empty plate...”

Pinehas Sakaria

My name is Pinehas Sakaria, born and grew up in Okalunga in Oshigambo constituency, were I started my pre-primary and Junior education. Due to the living standard, I then relocated to Tsumeb, where I continued my Primary education. I completed my Primary education at Opawa Junior Secondary School and then completed my Grade 12 at Etosha High School in 2010. I started with the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology in Tsumeb, where I got an opportunity to be enrolled with Ohorongo in my Level 2 general Electrical.

Judging my past as a dependent person, it motivated me to apply for an Ohorongo bursary, which paid for my Level 3 and my trade test in 2016. As a hard-working student, I managed to pass my trade test and by providing proof of my results, I was then selected for an interview as electrician.

I an a very happy Ohorongo bursary holder, currently employed as an Ohorongo Electrical Project Artisan, performing my dutie to the best of my ability and willing to learn even more in future.

I can honestly say I am very lucky that within 2 months, Ohorongo provided me with 3 different types of training: nifty-lift training, overhead crane training and finally forklift training.

I personally don't have much to say, but only to thank all the Ohorongo employees who made my Appieship a success.

And then finally, to the upcoming students: Study very hard, because nothing comes to an empty plate...

Thank you Ohorongo, thank you very much!
