To support the fight against crime in the town of Otavi, Ohorongo Cement handed over a donation of reflective jackets to the Otavi Police.
The hand-over of 30 reflective jackets to the value of N$ 2 400 was done on 15 September to Inspector Shipepe and his team, who were very appreciative of the donation. The aim is that the jackets will serve to assist the Otavi Police and traffic cops with increased safety precautions, especially during night.
“These officers have to put themselves in harms’ way very often, especially during night, or in unfavorable visibility conditions. These officers man our roadblocks or attend to accidents in the region, and this is just a small token of our support towards the constant fight against crime,” said Rudolf Coetzee, General Administration Manager of Ohorongo Cement.
Inspector Shipepe thanked Ohorongo Cement with heartfelt appreciation for partnering with the Otavi Police. Chief Inspector Richter agreed with him and emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of police- and traffic officers in carrying out their duties.
“Safety is of the utmost importance to us, not only within our own business, but also within our communities,” said Coetzee.
