Rietquelle Junior Secondary School benefited by receiving a truckload of cement from Ohorongo Cement through its Trust, the Ohorongo Otavi Community Trust (OOCT) today.
The school is situated in the remote area of Aminuis, which is located 170km South-East of Gobabis in the Omaheke Region.
Given the remote location of Rietquelle Jnr Secondary School, the decision was made to assist them with the donation of a truckload of cement towards constructing a recreational hall.
This hall would benefit the entire community, and not only the school, and would also be utilized to host examinations.
The 36 tons of Ohorongo Cement was handed over on Friday, 22 April 2016 to a few representatives and previous alumni’s of the school.
The school celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2015. Some of the individuals who are Alumni of the school, includes the likes of Late Chief Kuaima Riruako (Paramount Chief) and Mrs Kamwi Inge Zaamwani (Patron to Rietquelle School).
OOCT wants to assist in the creation of windows of opportunity towards development for a better future, for Namibia and its people, and the key to that, is through Education.
The Ohorongo Otavi Community Trust (OOCT) and Ohorongo is not new in its support towards Namibia and its communities.
Since its inception in 2011 to date, the company has invested more than N$ 10 million towards various projects:
By inspiring others to also do their part in Corporate Social Investment Projects, it was heartwarming that one of Ohorongo’s local transporters, Special Inn Transport, committed to deliver this truckload of cement to Rietquelle in Aminuis free of charge!
According to Mr Simon Nambahu, owner of Special Inn Transport, he was inspired by Ohorongo and OOCT’s commitment and diligent efforts to improve the Namibian infrastructure.
Omake, Special Inn!
Together, we can achieve more!
OOCT remains focused on embarking on projects that will benefit the wider communities it serves, and not merely specific institutions, especially in remote areas such as these.
